The Hartman Basics

We graduate from Purdue in May 2007.  David studied Electrical Engineering and Carrie Nursing.

Married on September 2nd 2007.

Spent 3 years in upstate New York. Our town, Endicott, is the home of the square deal.  David worked for Lockheed Martin and Carrie worked as a RN for United Health Services.

We loved our time in NY. We spent a lot of our time at work, hanging out with friends getting involved in the community.

Now we are living in Lancaster, PA. Home of the Amish and a lot of other really cool people.

We have entered a year of preparation for overseas working, figuring out what it means to be a blessing to the Muslim world. Sometime fall 2011 we will be moving overseas to work and bless the community around us. Details to come.

Getting Started

Welcome to our Blog! It's exciting to finally get this up and going. Please show us grace as we figure out how to make this work! Sorry if it is missing some aesthetic appeal ;)

     Why did we name our blog Selah? I think it's because it describes what God is doing in our life. This word comes from the Bible and is often used in the Psalms. The author uses it when he wants the reader to "Stop and Listen." I (Carrie) think this is so intriguing because if I could say the number one thing God is teaching us to do is "stop and listen." So often our prayers are a one way conversation, but when we "stop and listen" we give God a chance to speak to us. His Words are good and true and always life giving.

     My prayer for you is that you too can stop and listen. Take time to hear from God and be filled again with His never ending love over you.
